FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
I do the product work: research, scope, user stories, acceptance criteria, prototypes, and the decisions in between. Although LLMs have made coding more accessible, I don’t write or ship production code.
So I can take something from a rough idea to a spec your engineers can build from, and stay in the room while they build it. I also provide clickable prototypes. However, if what you need is someone writing and checking live code, that’s a different hire.

What makes your approach to product development unique?
You’ll always know which parts of a recommendation are solid and which are still a bet. That’s what lets you move quickly, and it’s the thing most product cases leave unsaid.
I show the work: what the evidence supports, what I’m assuming, and what would have to be true for the case to hold. It stands up when you take it to a board, and if something shifts six months later you can still revisit the decisioning.

What Does A Product Audit Cover?
I go through the product the way a potential customer will: where they drop out, what they can’t work out on their own, and which parts are generating the support load. That usually means the sign-up path, the moments where someone is left waiting on an outcome, and the points where the customers drop off without explaining why.
You get findings ranked by how often each one occurs and what it would cost to fix, with a clear line between what the evidence supports and what is still worth testing.

What Does Fractional Consulting Actually Look Like?
I work alongside your team for a set stretch rather than joining it. Most engagements sit around a specific decision (i.e., which market to enter, which partner to sign with, what the roadmap should hold for the next two quarters) and run from a few weeks to a few months depending on what’s being decided.
You get the decision made and documented, and a team that can revisit it in six months without uncertainty.
04.
Do You Only Work In Fintech?
No. Most of my recent work sits in fintech but I’ve worked with founders in retail, sustainability, e-commerce and a few other spaces.
The method doesn’t change much between them. Working out who actually has the problem, what it’s costing today, and how big it is applies wherever you are. What fintech adds is experience is a regulated area, which is a benefit.

What stages of product development do you cover?
I cover the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, and launch or specific portions (you choose!). I am with you at every step to ensure the product is user-focused, meets business objectives, and is scalable for future growth. Whether it’s a new product or a feature enhancement, I guide you through the entire journey.
